Join us for Part II of our Back to School with Boardmaker series!   We will share MORE practical strategies for supporting your students with special learning needs using symbol-based materials.  We will review both print and interactive activities to support math, science, and social studies standards, and discuss ways to implement into individual, small group or classroom lessons throughout the school day.

Upon completion of this session participants will:

  • Describe the benefits of using symbol-based materials to support students with special needs.

  • List 4 ways that symbol-based instructional materials can be used to increase classroom participation.

  • Compare and contrast print versus onscreen activities.

Stephanie Ekis, MS CCC-SLP has provided assessment, therapy, and consultation services for children and adults with severe speech and language disabilities for over 20 years. She is currently the Manager of the Training and Implementation department at Tobii Dynavox and has a passion for teaching others how to deliver successful and meaningful AAC services.
