Personalizing with Digital Images in Compass & Communicator 5
Digital images may be used to customize communication pages whether creating a visual scene, symbol on a button or enhancing any behavior or other supports. Digital images also allow the AAC user to share their stories! Join us to explore the basics of the media libraries in Compass and Communicator 5.
- Explain 1-2 ways that customizing high-tech devices with digital images may increase participation and communication.
- List at least 3 ways digital images can be used within a high-tech device.
- Describe how video modeling on a high-tech device may support positive behavior in an activity.

Holly Schneider, MA CCC-SLP, has prior experience as an Elementary & Intermediate English and Language Arts teacher. After graduating in 2000 with a Master’s degree in Speech and Language Pathology, she began a clinical career at St. David’s Rehabilitation Hospital, working with clients ranging in age from adolescent to geriatric. Currently, Holly is on the Training and Implementation Team at Tobii Dynavox where she develops and conducts internal and customer trainings, creates implementation resources, and presents at local, national and international conferences about AAC topics.
