Interest your Clients in Communication and Intervention to Facilitate Success
$0Each of us have people, activities and subjects that we love to talk about; they are interesting to us. Our clients (regardless of age) are not exceptions to this rule. For some, their interests may be broad while others may have a very narrow set of interests or even just one. Some individuals may have had the same interests for many years while others change from day-to-day. $0$0 Regardless of the characteristics of the interests, we can take advantage of them to facilitate progress in our interventions. The challenge to service providers is often in the discovery of these interests.$0$0In addition to offering support for understanding client interests and outlining the benefits, this course will introduce participants to a variety of available interest assessment tools and strategies for clients of varying ages and diagnoses as well as skills levels from mild to severe/profound. In particular, orientation to the (free) Tobii Dynavox Interest Inventory will be provided.
