Positive Behavior Supports in Compass Software
Positive Behavior supports are seamlessly integrated into the new DynaVox Compass software and provide a unique, evidence-based tool for promoting successful behavior (and communication). A range of techniques are supported within each communication topic, including: first/then charts, social narratives, visual rules, contingency map, timers and token reinforcement. These tools have been found to be invaluable for individuals who have greater difficulty in shifting attention from one task to another. This may be due to a greater need for predictability in understanding what will be coming next. The Positive Behavior Supports in the DynaVox Compass software provide transition strategies are techniques used to support individuals during changes, or disruptions to activities, settings, or routines.
Presented by: Patrick Brune, MS, CCC-SLP, has over 20 years of clinical experience in the area of AAC. Presently he is a Clinical Marketing Specialist with DynaVox, and contributes to the development of new products, training and implementation tools.
