Answer:

A number of the text-to-speech voices on-board your Series5 speech device are not well suited for use with eBooks.

The voice that you will find works far better than most for speaking eBook text is HEATHER.

Setting the eBook reading voice to Heather will have no effect on the regular voice you have set
to represent the user of the device. For example, the following should work fine:
               Out in your pages, you speak using the voice MIKE,
               but, when you are speaking eBooks, you use the Heather voice...

TO SET THE eBOOK SPEAKING VOICE TO USE HEATHER :

1.) If you are using the eBook READER Menu in the TOOLS menu:
     - In the lower right corner of the screen, hit "MODIFY VIEWER";
     then, right of center on the menu that pops up, hit READING VOICE,
     and set it to "Heather, Acapella 8, SAPI5 (SAPI 5)"

2.) If you are using a communication page formatted for displaying eBooks:
     - On the top edge of the screen hit the MODIFY button
     ( the circle framing 2 green boxes), changing it from green to red,
     then, touch the area of the page that displays the eBook's text.
     Then, right of center on the menu that pops up, hit READING VOICE,
     and set it to "Heather, Acapella 8, SAPI5 (SAPI 5)"
