Augmentative communicators and peer tutors team up to learn from one another in Project A.I.C.E.S., an award-winning program lead by Edie Thayer, M.A., SLP. With more than 60 junior and senior high school students, this group assists communicators in their transition to the public school system in Vineland, New Jersey. In 1997, the program won the prestigious Best Practice in Special Education award from the New Jersey Department of Education.
