Possible AAC Solutions for Veterans

For veterans who are not able to use natural language, we offer a wide range of speech generating devices. The VA speech language pathologist will determine if a speech device is a good solution for you and which device is the most appropriate. Many DynaVox devices also function as computers, which the VA will cover for veterans with many disabilities – see Computers for Veterans with Disabilities.

Vmax

DynaVox V or Vmax
The complete communication solution offering unparalleled flexibility.
The V and Vmax are powerful speech generating devices that support challenges like deficiencies in language comprehension and production, enabling individuals with a range of disabilities to be effective communicators. They also give you the full range of capabilities of a computer, including email, internet, environmental control and Bluetooth® capabilities.

EyeMax

DynaVox EyeMax
Allows communication with eye control.
The EyeMax comprised of a Vmax communication device and the EyeMax accessory, allows individuals to communicate using eye movement after motor control is lost. With the EyeMax users can access and make selections on their Vmax device simply by blinking or dwelling on the desired area of the screen. For most, the EyeMax is considerably faster than alternative access methods such as switch scanning.

Xpress

DynaVox Xpress
Portable, discreet and easy-to-use, the DynaVox Xpress delivers full communication capabilities in a convenient hand-held size. Similar in size and appearance to mainstream technology, it is appealing to the communicator and invites their communication partners to interact more naturally. With advanced tourchscreen technology, the display is clearer and larger than those on other PDA-based communication devices. Like the V and Vmax, the communication software of the Xpress promotes rapid communication in any setting and allows for personalization by loading digital photographs, videos, and MP3s.
