Structure and consistency in page layout, navigation, and key functionality have been designed into the V and Vmax with Series 5 Software and InterAACt page sets. These dynamic page sets are organized in logical categories according to age and skill level, making core words and phrases easy to find. And for individuals who are building skills, the page sets encourage language and literacy development.
Give voice to your thoughts.
Using virtually any access method,, users choose a symbol or scene from the large color touch screen. The device "speaks" the corresponding word or phrase using a synthesized or digitized voice. A wide range of preloaded, synthesized voices (including a wide range of AT&T Natural Voices, four of which are sampled above, and Acapela HQ Child and Adult Voices) have enhanced levels of clarity, projection, and intelligibility. Messages can be understood immediately in any setting.
Create the message.
With the V and Vmax, you can communicate faster than ever. There are the standard shortcuts, built-in spell checker, and even phrase prediction features you’d expect, but that’s just the beginning. Sophisticated capabilities keep conversations moving quickly. Groups of common phrases can be quickly tailored to the immediate situation. Short, conversational interjections are available right on the main page. You can also create longer messages in advance and use them later as needed.
Customization that works with you.
The preprogrammed InterAACt® page sets can be customized to suit each user’s needs. An easy-to-follow Setup Wizard walks you through the process and then loads a recommended set of pages, symbols, and voices. Modify InterAACt page templates or create original pages from scratch. Pull images from the DynaSyms and PCS symbol sets preloaded on every device. Or, import content and images from other DynaVox software and other applications.
Connect with the world.
For wireless access to computers, the Internet, and electronic communication methods, such as email, and text messaging, the standard (open) versions of the V and Vmax are unmatched. You can run any Microsoft XP-compatible software application directly on the V or Vmax or operate an external computer with AccessIT. Compose and print word processor documents. Surf the Internet or sendemail using any access method. Set up a web camera. And with MP3 player functions, you can store your music and create playlists using any access method.
Access power.
The V offers the widest variety of access methods in the AAC industry, including touch and exit, visual and auditory scanning, audio touch, eye tracking, mouse pause, headtrackers, joystick, Morse code, touch autozoom, and zoom scanning. Each of these unique selection methods can be customized to suit the specific needs and goals of an individual. All of the system tools, as well as ways to modify and create pages, are available to users of any input method.
Environmental matters.
For added convenience, you can use your V or Vmax to "tie into" common electronic devices around the house. Program it to act as a universal remote for a television, CD or DVD player, light switches, or any other item that can be operated with a remote control. Use PhoneIT, an accessory from DynaVox, to operate a telephone with your V or Vmax.

V or Vmax?
Which device is right for you? It’s simple, really. The devices have exactly the same functionality. The V is slightly smaller and weighs a bit less—ideal if you want a smaller or more portable device. The Vmax is somewhat larger and is ideal for mounting. Both feature an easy-to-read screen, a water-resistant front surface, and a rugged outer shell. There’s also a large hard disk, and an impressive array of connector ports, and wireless access via Bluetooth® or Wi-Fi® technologies.
eBook capabilities
Integrated eBook capabilities, allowing users to load an eBook to read or have their device read it to them. The V and Vmax will support DAISY and Text format eBooks and a variety of additional behaviors and tools have been added allowing users to completely customize an eBook page which will be most useful to their individual needs.
