and delivery on the Palmtop3 is quick and easy with rate
enhancement features like word and character
prediction, abbreviation expansion, auto-capitalization,
auto-spacing and auto-learn new words. Built-in
hardware buttons can also be programmed to meet
an individual’s unique needs like shortcuts for common
functions.
Clear, Flexible Voice Output
New Acapela voices provide more choice and higher quality voice
output, and the devices include the popular DECtalk
speech synthesizer and capacity for over 200 minutes
of digitized speech recordings.
Ready to Run
Pre-loaded with programmed page
sets designed by speech-language pathologists, the
Palmtop3 is ready to run right out of the
box, altogether eliminating the need to create custom
pages for every occasion. You can
create or edit new pages on a Windows PC with the
included PC Editing software or
directly on the device.
DynaCare Extended Service Contracts
DynaCare Certified Unlimited Guarantee extended service contracts help to ensure that unexpected repair bills never strain your budget. Available for purchase year-by-year or in money-saving, multi-year packages, DynaCare extended service contracts allow you to extend your original, all-inclusive 1 year guarantee on your DynaVox Palmtop3 or DynaVox iChat3 for up to two (2) years beyond the expiration date of your original DynaCare Certified Unlimited Guarantee. An extended service contract can be bought either with the device (deferred) - or after the device is already in use, in which case a device inspection may be required.
Standard (Open) Device Key
If a user has a ‘Dedicated’ (closed) device, this ‘key’ allows the user to turn it into a ‘Standard’ (open) device. This key will be on a CD. The Palmtop3/iChat3 will need to be connected to a PC via the Sync Cable for the executable file on this CD to convert the device.
Velocity
Velocity is a comprehensive communication system created expressly for the Palmtop version of Impact software by Christine Scally (MA, CCC-SLP). Designed for elementary school-aged children, Velocity’s activity-based organization provides for fast and flexible conversations. On each Situation Page your child has one-tap access to off-situation talk, so he or she can discuss the latest fads and keep the conversation rolling. New messages can be generated using the readily accessible word bank, onscreen keyboard, and word prediction.
Extra / Replacement User Accessible Carrying Case
One of these cases ships with each device. This padded case protects the Palmtop3 and iChat3 while allowing use of the device without removing it from the case. A shoulder strap and waist strap are included for carrying ease and comfort.
Sync Cable (Replacement or Extra)
One of these cables ships with each device. Replacement Sync cables are available for use with your device. These are RoHS compliant and are used to connect the device to a computer, and can also charge the device from the computer. A Sync cable also ships with each device, and this is for a replacement or additional Sync cable.
External Bluetooth Keyboard
External Bluetooth Keyboard for the iChat3 and Palmtop3.
Accessibility Options
The Switch Access Kit is necessary in order to use a Switch with the Palmtop3 device. You may also order the parts that comprise this kit separately (the Interface Adapter Box and Serial Cable listed below). The iChat3 device does not support switch access.
Switch Access Kit
This allows the user to connect switches to the device for scanning and Morse code. It consists of the Serial Cable (369001) and Switch Access Interface Adapter Box (500351). The switch interface can have up to 5 switches plugged in and send those signals to the device. The Palmtop software is only designed to use a maximum of 2 switches for Scanning and 3 switches for Morse Code. Morse Code and Scanning can not be turned on at the same time. (the iChat does not support scanning).

This Access Box, when connected with a Serial Cable to the device, allows the user to connect switches to the device for scanning and Morse code. Serial Cable
Serial cables are available for use with your device. These are RoHS compliant and are used to connect a Switch Access Interface Adapter Box (500351) to the device. This is also part of the Switch Access Kit (501252). (note: the iChat does not support scanning and thus has no need for a Serial Cable).

Made of a highly flexible and durable nylon compound, the TrueTip® finger stylus will expand and conform to almost any finger. Helpful whether you want more accuracy or easier selection. Sold only in packs of 3.
AC Charger Adapters
Additional AC adapters are available for those customers who find it convenient to keep one adapter at home and another in a secondary location such as school or work, or in the event that an adapter is lost or damaged.
Replacement custom Stylus
Replacement styli are available should yours become lost. Sold in a unit quantity of one.
