More options for type-and-talk communications
Multiple choice.
There’s no question the Lightwriter SL87 and SL88 offer even more choices for augmented communicators who prefer type-and-talk AAC devices. Choices—like the power of direct selection combined with scanning capabilities. And display options for the dual screens to increase legibility. It’s all here in a self-contained, portable device. The Lightwriter SL87 and SL88 provide maximum flexibility for individuals with a range of physical abilities who prefer the familiarity of a keyboard interface.
Ready to go.
Just press the power button and say what’s on your mind. Use direct selection or scanning to compose your message, which is displayed on your screen. When you’re done, the message is displayed on your listener’s screen and spoken. Highly intelligible voices—DECtalk(SL87) or Acapela HQ(SL88) Voices—ensure messages are received and understood.
Access choices.
Extremely easy to understand and use, Lightwriter's scan-system design allows you to select from a variety of keyboards, including ABC, QWERTY, and EARDU. Single-switch and two-switch scanning options are included with the SL87 and SL88. You can also compose messages using Morse code via external switches.
Keep the conversation moving.
Word prediction, spell-checker, abbreviation expansion, and word memories all keep conversations moving quickly and reduce the number of keystrokes required.
All-day usability.
The moisture-resistant LightTouch keyboard requires very little effort to operate, reducing operator fatigue. The rechargeable battery provides all the power needed for 7 to 9 hours of conversation.
Language options.
For added convenience and versatility, choose from Spanish/English and French/English configurations.
