Techniques like concept-based phrase prediction, "slots" and "quickfires" reduce the amount of necessary navigation to accelerate and enhance communication.
The computer access features allow users to surf the Internet, generate documents and send information to a printer. The Series 5 Software also supports an extensive set of keyboard shortcuts that enable efficient composition of messages. Several classic games, all of which are interactive, are designed to entertain and educate the user. A motion-detecting web camera can pan, tilt and zoom to follow multiple subjects, create shots of a user's surroundings and highlight images of interest - all in sleek silence.
Series 5 Software provides powerful word morphology capabilities that assist in the creation of a message. It can automatically conjugate verbs into the proper form, change nouns from singular to plural and change adjectives from comparative to superlative.
You can automatically assign symbols to text in the Message Window, and also load stories onto the device. Then, automatically apply symbols to the words, an ideal feature for users who are at the beginning stages of literacy. With new Drag-n-Drop editing, users can select images, sounds and video from a computer, an external drive or the internet and assign them to pages or buttons.

As the keyboard is used to create a message, word prediction will attempt to anticipate the word being typed to enable quick selection by the user. Character prediction anticipates the character that is about to be typed as a user is spelling a given word. This feature is particularly beneficial for scanning users. The Phrase Prediction feature chooses phrases from a user's "My Phrases" collection that can be categorized by concept.
Applications accessible on a computer can be utilized with ease using Series 5 Software. The Software can be purchased separately, and used on a computer at your home, school or office, so there are no boundaries to learning and literacy development!
Numerous access methods, including touch enter and exit, visual and auditory scanning, and eye tracking access are supported by Series 5 Software. It also contains powerful access methods like Segment Scanning and Mouseless Browsing, that can be used to access other applications on your computer or device.
