Dear Customer:

At DynaVox, the safety of our clients is of paramount importance. It is with this in mind and out of an abundance of caution that DynaVox voluntarily puts its customers on NOTICE OF POTENTIAL OVERHEATING ISSUES WITH CERTAIN EXTERNAL POWER CHARGERS manufactured by SL Power Electronics which have been provided with certain DynaVox products.

The external power charger at issue is the SL Power Electronics' Medical Power Supply, Model MW174KB1800F04, with a lot number of 1017B, C1031C, or C1042C (stamped on the power supply case at the location shown on Exhibit 1), that were shipped between September 27, 2010 and August 12, 2011.

DynaVox received a small number of consumer reports that the above referenced external power charger overheated, smoked, and/or sparked when plugged into an electrical outlet to charge a DynaVox product. The reported incidents did not result in any personal injury. No such reports have been received with respect to DynaVox products sold outside the continental United States.

The manufacturer of the external charger is in the process of conducting tests to determine the cause of overheating. DynaVox has not made any determination regarding the cause of the reported overheating incidences.

DynaVox requests that clients cease use of the above referenced external power charger. You should UNPLUG the external power charger from both the outlet and your device. Then, sever the cord for the external power charger that plugs into the DynaVox device and discard.

DynaVox will provide, at no expense to you, a replacement external power charger.
