DynaVox Systems LLC Appoints Lawrence E. Stephens Chief Information Officer
PITTSBURGH, PA – November 27, 2007 - DynaVox Systems LLC, developers of high technology speech communication devices for individuals with significant speech, language and learning disabilities, today announced the appointment of Lawrence E. Stephens as Chief Information Officer.
In his new role as DynaVox CIO, Stephens will direct the development, implementation and maintenance of DynaVox’s technology applications and networks for the organization’s two divisions, Pittsburgh-based DynaVox Technologies and San Diego-based Mayer-Johnson.
Stephens was formerly the Chief Information Officer for the Emerson Climate Technologies Group of the Emerson Electric Corporation. He was responsible for implementing an industry leading eBusiness business infrastructure used by multiple Emerson divisions, and led the global IT initiatives and organizations supporting that group.

With more than 20 years of IT management experience, Stephens has a strong track record of successfully introducing robust information systems into organizations. In addition to his work at Emerson, Stephens’ career profile also includes executive positions within the technology organizations of Global Home Products, a manufacturer of glassware, cooking ware, and picture frames, and Hill-Rom Company, Inc., a global medical equipment manufacturer and services provider to hospitals and nursing homes.
Stephens and his family will be relocating to Pittsburgh from Troy, Ohio.
