DynaVox DV4 and MT4 to be Discontinued
PITTSBURGH, PA – August 7, 2007 -
DynaVox Technologies, the world leader in the development and distribution of speech-output solutions for individuals challenged by significant speech, language and learning disabilities, today announced plans to discontinue production of the Series 4 family of speech-output devices, including the DynaVox DV4 and DynaVox MT4. This move was prompted by a dwindling supply of component parts in the world market.
"We are grateful to the many augmented communicators who rely upon our Series 4 products to overcome the challenges they face in speaking their minds, as well as the families, speech-language pathologists and special educators who have worked so hard to support them," said Robert Butcher, product manager, DynaVox Technologies. "We are committed to continuing the excellent support Series 4 customers have come to rely upon from DynaVox."
Butcher continued: "All Series 4 customers and their care teams will continue to be supported by the augmentative and alternative communication industry’s best technical support team for the life of their product. Additionally, we guarantee repair service will be available for these devices for five years from the date of purchase."
DynaVox Technologies will accept orders for the DynaVox MT4 and DV4 until 5:00 PM, EDT, Monday, October 1, 2007. After this date, please contact your local DynaVox Sales Consultant to discuss the DynaVox V and Vmax. The newest additions to the DynaVox product line, the V and Vmax combine all the capabilities of the Series 4 products with natural-sounding AT&T voices, a fully-integrated Windows XP computer, and InterAACT, a language framework that provides augmented communicators of all ages and abilities with a solid foundation for communication.
