Transporting an AAC device is one of four basic operational skills that ensure an individual’s AAC device is available for communication whenever it is needed. This unit focuses on increasing the AAC user’s understanding of how to charge an AAC device as well as when, why and whose responsibility it is. This lesson/therapy plan is appropriate for use in a variety of settings (e.g., individual and group therapy, day programs, classroom, home) for any age group. State educational standards are referenced for those using it in a classroom setting.
