Hi Kaely,
I'm Bob Butcher one of the Product Managers at DynaVox. I am hoping to provide answers and some solutions to the questions and issues you are having with the M3.
In regards to keyguards and the M3 InterAACT pages I'm assuming you are talking about the use of Visual Scenes and the keyguard. The grid based pages do work with the standard title-bar keyguards, and we recommend that with a little work you can position the active areas of a visual scene to be accessible from the keyguard "holes".
Next I'd like to talk about recorded voices and the recording process on the M3. From a recording standpoint, DynaVox has greatly improved the process for creating recordings on the M3 compared to the Mini/Mighty Mo.
With that being said I do understand time constraints for parents and teachers and I have both a right now and longer term answer for you. Right now the M3 ships with a CD that includes all of the DynaVox created Mini/Might Mo content and professionally recorded voices. You have the ability to load those packages to the M3 and take advantage of the content and pre-recorded voices that you are already familiar with. As a longer term solution for customers who will be using the InterAACT pages, DynaVox is investigating the possibility of recording male, female and child voices for the InterAACT M3 page sets.
In terms of including Gateway pagesets, when we were designing this product and the content for the product we looked at Gateway and made a decision that these pagesets did not fit into the language strategy/framework we defined for the M3. We really wanted to focus in on the Emergent Communicator and Gateway doesn't fit into this strategy.
I hope this answers your concerns. If you would like to talk in more detail or need to contact me directly my email address is:
