InterAACt and ALS
Language is the foundation of communication and expression. In order to be truly
useful and meaningful, language must have a framework and structure. It must be
more than a random collection of words and phrases. It must be appropriate for the
communicator, meaningful to the recipient and relevant to the environment within
which the communication is occurring. It is because of this principle that DynaVox
created the InterAACt language framework.
InterAACt is...
- Individuals with ALS
can communicate right away in any situation.
- Communication needs are met both now
and later. As communication and physical needs change InterAACt provides the flexibility
needed to support new communication and access needs. InterAACt's wide-range of communication
tools are presented in a consistent layout that allow individuals to communicate
on their terms. Whether they want to type letter-by-letter, use full phrases, or
talk with others by phone or email, in addition to having face-to-face conversations.
- InterAACt gives individuals
with ALS the tools they need to say what need to say quickly and say it in their
own words. It provides the communication and access tools that individuals need
to speak their minds at home and work, and in social settings.
- InterAACt presents language
in a familiar format using real words for everyday environments.
