The larger black lever on my Connect-iT wheelchair mount won’t clamp tightly enough. We tighten it but the pole still twists and allows the speech device to fall.

That levered-clamp* is not meant to restrain any twisting force.

 

The  fitting which includes the large black lever is designed solely to set the height adjustment

of the mount’s long vertical tube. Its levered clamp was not meant to restrain any twisting force.

The design of the mount relies on its long vertical tube being held almost completely vertical and,

if assembled correctly, the mount’s parts should allow for that tube to remain  vertical and still

hold the speech device where you need it.

 

If it doesn’t seem that you can arrange the mount as you need it without tilting that tube,

consult the chair mount assembly instructions downloadable from our website…

and note that the mount usually requires the use of three tubes, the vertical tube being the

second one up from the bottom. See image below…
