Medicare
On January 1, 2001, the Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) began providing coverage for AAC devices to Medicare beneficiaries with Part B coverage. Medicare calls AAC devices "speech generating devices," or SGDs, and covers AAC devices as durable medical equipment within its Part B benefit.
Medicare recognizes all devices in the DynaVox Technologies product line, including the Maestro, Tango, Xpress, Vmax+, V+, M3 and DynaWrite featured on this website. If AAC evaluation proves a medical necessity, Medicare may provide coverage for Switches, Switch Mounts, device rental and repair.

Use the following table to estimate your Medicare Part B co-payment. Remember that your actual co-payment may vary depending on the exact equipment being ordered, as well as whether you have met your Medicare deductible.
